Final Fantasy III #3 - Nepto Temple & Tower of Owen
First off, I'd like to apologize for the lack of a video this past Sunday. The truth is I received my Switch 2 on that day, and I got completely lost setting it up and testing the games there!
Anyway, in this third episode of Final Fantasy III, we continue our mini adventures through the Nepto Temple. The monster preventing the Vikings from sailing is actually the physical manifestation of the spirit that resides this temple; it went mad because one of the gems in its monument got taken by a rat that then ran away and made a nest within the temple itself.
It's a short and sweet little dungeon that you must play through while in Mini state, so mages are recommended.
With the statue complete, and the seas safe to traverse, the Vikings give us their best ship as a well deserved reward, and so we can finally cross the sea towards Castle Argus... Which is completely empty. So that ended up being a dead end for now.
Exploring a bit further, we also locate a place called the Tower of Owen, which we can’t really explore at the moment, since part of it is flooded. Exploring further we find the home of the Gulgan, a tribe of people born without sight but with the ability to see into the future: they're the people who foretold the coming of the Warriors of Light, and they also tell Desch that his destiny is in the Tower, and give us the spell required to get past the first floor.
Toad is similar to Mini, in the sense that it's required to access places our heroes would be unable to otherwise. However, unlike Mini, you can't actually fight as a Toad... Thankfully you don't need to stay as one after you're done crossing the waterway.
The Tower of Owen is apparently the thing keeping the floating continent our heroes live in, well, floating. A monster has been attempting to destroy it from within, and only Desch is capable of fixing the core- he happens to be one of the Ancients, and his original task before losing his memory was actually maintaining the tower operational.
His heroic sacrifice keeps the continent afloat, and dispels the storm that locked us inside the inner sea.
As usual, the software belongs to its owners, I only record my gameplay for my own enjoyment.
