TLoZ: Oracle of Seasons #8 - Sword & Shield Maze
1I'll be transparent and admit I somewhat forgot how to get to the 8th dungeon. Like, I KNOW where it is, but I was silly and attempted to reach it via Subrosia first, so I lost a few minutes at the beginning of the video. We do get there eventually though; the proper entrance is obviously in the one part of the map of Holodrum we haven't explored yet.
The final dungeon is called the Sword & Shield Maze, although the name is in reference only to the shape of the map- it's actually got more of a Fire & Ice theme to it. The ring that prevents you from sliding on ice is a life saver in this one, it's too bad I don't have it!
I'd like to apologize for the horrible performance against the mid-boss Frypolar, I actually forgot you could use his ice spars against it and defeated it in what's probably the slowest most painful way imaginable.
The actual boss itself, Medelock, feels somewhat random for this dungeon, since nothing about it really says ice, fire, sword, nor shield. Maybe it's meant to reference how Medusa was defeated by a shield? But the only shield here is the shape of half the map... Anyway, defeating her gives us the final Essence of Nature: the Changing Seasons.
As usual, the software belongs to its owners, I only record my gameplay for my own enjoyment.
