Final Fantasy III NES - Part 17: Eureka!
16Part 17/22 in my Final Fantasy III - NES walkthrough.
Another fairly short part, but after this there's a couple of longer ones until the final part.
Apart from the final boss, my favourite track in the game is in Eureka.
Head into Sylx Tower and into the room straight ahead. Use the Eureka Key in front of the mirror to be transported to Eureka.
The first room has two easy to spot sets of treasure.
The second room has two smaller rooms in the north west and north east which contain treasures, but don't forget the Ribbon hidden in the west wall as you're heading to the south west. The Ninja you fight for the treasure does over 1000 damage, but it only seems to be single target and he goes down fairly quick if you apply the same strategy as with the previous few bosses.
Head out of the south west for a treasure, before heading out of the south east to continue the path. The remaining treasures are easy enough to spot. Continue along and you'll come to Amon, a boss who looks like and has the same defensive capabilities as Hyne.
There's really no point in having a Scholar to identify his weakness though, your hasted fighters will out damage your mage by quite some distance at this point. The attacks he uses are multi target and are of low enough damage that you shouldn't be too worried.
You get another Full Moon for beating him.
