Final Fantasy XI #054, Bastok Mission 5-1: Darkness Rising: Archlich Taber'quoan

Previously, Heorot carried out the quest "In Defiant Challenge" and raised his level limit to 55. Now, he will get back to the story and start Bastok Mission 5-1. Based on how Mission 4-1 ended, there is some trouble afoot.
Heorot resumes in the Mog House in Jeuno. He heads out to Ru'Lude Gardens.
Ru'Lude Gardens (time 0:50):
Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-10 to teleport to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 1:12):
Heorot talks to Crying Wind, I.M., to renew his Signet.
Then, he talks to Rashid. Rashid tells him to talk to Naji at the President's Office.
So, Heorot teleports to the Metalworks.
Metalworks (time 2:44):
A scene takes place when Heorot talks to Naji at J-8. Fortunately, it seems that President Karst is alive and well. An intruder has infiltrated Bastok and stolen a talisman, a part of a seal in the Northlands. Heorot accepts the mission to go to the Northlands to investigate.
President Karst, Lucius, and Volker explain the mission to Heorot in detail. He must go to the ruins of Fei'Yin in the northeast of the Beaucedine Glacier. The way to Beaucedine Glacier goes through Ranguemont Pass in Ronfaure, but Heorot has already gone through there. Lucius alludes to an expedition thirty years ago. I gather this was what Heorot saw scenes of during Mission 4-1. There are also allusions to an ancient civilization called the Zilart. I assume that is the same civilization referenced in the name "Rise of the Zilart".
Heorot receives a New Fei'Yin Seal, a temporary key item. Bastok Mission 5-1: "Darkness Rising" has begun.
A new dungeon means a new map. So, Heorot teleports to Bastok Markets.
Bastok Markets (time 10:22):
Heorot sells off some excess loot.
Then, he talks to Karine at H-9. He picks up the Map of Fei'Yin for 3,000 gil.
Heorot teleports to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 12:20):
Heorot sets Home Point #1 in Bastok Mines as his current home point. Then, he uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Beaucedine Glacier, Fauregandi.
Beaucedine Glacier (time 13:44):
Fortuitously, Beaucedine Glacier is currently under Bastok's control. So, Heorot sets his current home point to the Fauregandi Outpost.
Beaucedine Glacier has several tiers. Heorot must go down a few ramps to reach Fei'Yin, which is in the northeastern valley. Fortunately, the ramps are shown on the map.
Curious; the appearance of Fei'Yin is consistent with Deklfutt's Tower, the crags, and the Crystal Line.
Heorot finds the entrance to Fei'Yin at J-4.
Fei'Yin (time 27:37):
As Heorot enters Fei'Yin, a scene takes place with Lion and a Galka named Zeid. Zeid speaks of the expedition thirty years ago. They also speak of an old song called "The Warriors of the Crystal". Very Final Fantasy-ish.
We gain control at F-11 at Fei'Yin's entrance. Heorot must head to Qu'Bia Arena in the east. Some of the monsters along the way are manageable, but the Wekufe go all the way up to Level 99. No, thank you! For me, it's Sneak and Invisible all the way. Unfortunately, there is not a Survival Guide at the entrance of this particular dungeon.
Past the Cermet Portal at K-8, Heorot finds a timely Home Point. He does himself a big favor and sets it as his current home point.
Just past the Home Point, Heorot exits east to Qu'Bia Arena.
Qu'Bia Arena (time 35:20):
Heorot examines the Burning Circle. He enters the battlefield "The Rank 5 Mission". This one has a 15-minute time limit, some of which is eaten up in the scene transition. He has an opportunity to summon Trust NPCs and establish buffs before he heads to the arena.
In the arena, Heorot faces off with Archlich Taber'quoan, a black mage skeleton. It comes with two Ancient Sorcerers. As the battle goes on, Ancient Warriors will spawn and enter the arena periodically. Archlich Taber'quoan can be silenced, which is not a bad idea. It appears that the Ancient Warriors resist Sleep. I probably should have brought some Ethers for this fight.
Heorot does not survive the first attempt. Fortunately, he set his Home Point in Fei'Yin.
Fei'Yin (time 42:36):
After respawning at Fei'Yin's Home Point, Heorot returns to Qu'Bia Arena.
