Montblanc himself tasks us with the defeat of a powerful being that lurks in the Pharos at Ridorana. To be exact, it is in an Unknown section of the Subterra you can access after going through the Penumbra, Umbra and Abyssal floors and slaying the Phoenix.
Be well-prepared before attempting this fight because it is no joke, I'd actually recommend grabbing Excalibur before attempting it to capitalize on the Shadowseer's weakness to Holy.
Oddly enough, despite looking like a zombie and apparently being categorized as an Undead for Gambit purposes, it gets healed by curative spells, you can see that at the beginning with my Ashe firing a Curaja at it and healing it, so be sure to deactivate any such Gambits, they won't do you any good in this battle.
Start by casting Dispel on the boss to get rid of its buffs (Which I neglected to do, oops!), after that, the first phase is easy, the Seer will be fairly passive, only firing relatively weak attacks and taking a lot of damage, but it won't be long before he calls upon a familiar face and makes itself invincible...
Pandaemonium fights like its original incarnation in the Pharos, retaining its weakness to Wind. Sadly, it also means it retains its Perfect Defense, meaning you have to spend around 2 minutes with two invincible enemies attacking you. In this phase, the Seer will mostly support his creature by using Invert to greatly weaken your characters, Dispelga, Immobilizega, Slowga, Fearga and Curse, but it can also cast Darkga for massive Dark damage to your party, so be sure to have some Dark protection, on your entire party if possible!
After Pandaemonium's Palings fall, finish it and the Seer will summon his next servant, Slyt! Thankfully, it's still relatively weak, blast it with powerful Fire spells to take it out quickly before its Master annoys you too much.
Fenrir's up next and it retains its immunity to most elements, meaning you have no choice but to take it down with non-elemental attacks while taking pretty heavy physical and magical damage as well as Blind and Silence from its Wail attack.
Last but not least is Phoenix, it's virtually the same as the first time, still being a flying enemy as well, this part is probably the most intense as both enemies are relentless and won't leave you much time to recover.
After that, the Shadowseer will be left alone and vulnerable, but don't think it'll be easy yet, as it'll start using its strongest Magicks such as Flare, Shock and Scathe as well as fairly powerful physical attacks, his Fearga spell will also force your mages to recharge their MP, which can be especially deadly when a healer can't act when needed!
Its Defense will also skyrocket as it nears death, making the last of its HP a pain to remove, at this point, a long Quickening chain is your best chance of finishing the fight quickly, I'm pretty happy about getting Luminescence there, it fits!
After this fight, return to Montblanc to get your well-deserved reward, 20,000 Gil and 2 Megalixirs.
