A woman from Nalbina needs us to get rid of her pet who escaped and started attacking travelers, but warns us that the creature is shy and delicate, therefore, unnecessary bloodshed should be avoided.
After accepting the quest, warp to the Salikawood and from there, make your way to the Sun-Dappled Path without killing any enemy in the process, if an Antares cannibalizes an enemy, Carrot will also be scared away, so don't linger and just run to your destination.

The creature starts with a lot of positive status that should be Dispelled right away, it is Undead and weak to Holy, so Curative Spells can help you whittle down its HP.
Meanwhile, much like any Malboro, it'll use a plethora of status ailments on you! Balthier had a Ribbon in my case, making that a non-issue, but if you're not that well-equipped, a character with a ranged weapon should be ready to throw Remedies, Machinists and Archers have all 3 Remedy Lores and access to ranged weapons, making them ideal for that purpose. Also, keep an eye out for Hero's March to Dispel the positive buffs it bestows upon Carrot.
Once it is weakened, it'll use Growing Threat to double its level, and further increase its power as it nears death, finish it quickly at this point! An Archer with all Potion Lores and a Pheasant Netsuke will deal 5000 damage to the Mark with X-Potions, making it a very effective way of bypassing Carrot's increased Defense.
And after reporting this, I also go to see Jovy, as this Mark was the last one I needed to complete his sidequest!
