This is the fate featuring the Elder Primal Odin himself, Steel Reign! Atop his mighty steed, clad in armor darker than the void, the elder primal Odin has returned to Eorzea to exact his brutal judgment upon the realm.

This one..Is REALLY hard to even run into. I got lucky today, my cat woke me up early being crazy, some nice person was shouting in Limsa Lominsa about Odin being up in the East Shroud. I quickly teleported over there, shouted LFG and got invited into this party. By the time we got there he was about 61%.

But yeah, this FATE can spawn in about 11 different locations but all in the The Black Shroud area. The big sign being the weather. If the weather is Tension then Odin is in the area. But his fate does not show up on the mini map so you have to manually find it. In addition his timer is REALLY random. So good luck if you are trying to get every Odin item with the mantles, it'll take a while. Or maybe being in a linkshell dedicated to such things.

So this one is basically like a world boss since he CANNOT be beaten with small groups at all so if you see him let everyone know before you start anything! If you want to get gold you MUST party up as well so if no FC mates are around then just type in shout LFG or form the party yourself.

The fight with Odin is...Pretty chaotic. But the main things are destroy Gungir, avoid his huge AOEs and whomever holds aggro is hopefully a tank. They should try to stay still and not kite him. In this attempt the tanks had issue keep aggro lol. So Odin moved quite a bit.

Once he is at around 5% HP he will prepare to cast Zantetsuken, certain death! You must beat him before he casts it or the FATE fails and literally everyone dies. So that's the time to unleash limit breaks, etc. I didn't quite know that was how it worked at the time, this was my first real bout with Odin.

For getting silver you get only one Odin's Mantle. For Gold you get five Odin's Mantles and the achievement Uncut if it was your first time.

So shoutouts to everyone on Gilgamesh NA! We did good here. Not that anyone actually wipes to Odin anymore, right?

I'm not sure what to spend my Mantles on, getting that full set would be AMAZING but Sleipnir armor for my Chocobo would also be great. Just go to Aelina in Mor Dhona to exchange the Mantles if you're curious.

Most importantly, do note that glamour DOES NOT work for the Odin gear so...Yeah that stinks. They apparently plan to change that but at the time of the video it's still not glamour-able. So the Chocobo barding or the Zantetsuken may be better choices until then.
