It is time for the Battle of the Eagle and Lion, a huge mock battle between three houses on Gronder Field to see who the best one is out of the three, with Byleth leading the Golden Deer house. Unlike the mock battle back in Chapter 1, all students will be participating, and there is a good reward if Byleth's class defeats the most enemies.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

This chapter is a huge mock battle between the three houses, and we get a cool cutscene where the house leaders and their forces rush into the battle, and I like the song that plays for this map, it is called "Blue Skies and a Battle", one of my favourite songs in the game.
Byleth and the Golden Deer house will be on the northern side of the map, the Black Eagles will be at the southwest part of the map, and the Blue Lions will be on the southeast part of the map, but the locations are different based on the house picked, and if you are playing on Classic Mode, if any of your units are defeated, they will not die, or in this case, can be used in future battles, as this is a mock battle.
If you have recruited any units into your house, in this case, I have recruited Sylvain, Ingrid, and Petra, and I have Felix for my Mission Assistant, they will be replaced by generic units without Crests or Personal Abilities, making them easier to fight, and you can't use any of the Knights of Seiros, like Catherine or Shamir, as this is a mock battle between students, but Flayn can participate. The Blue Lions students will be replaced by Kingdom Generals, and the Black Eagles students will be replaced by Imperial Generals, and you cannot recruit Hubert or Dedue outside of their own houses, so you will have to fight them.
A good strategy is to have a unit with Stride so you can take the Ballista right away, as Bernadetta will start on there firing arrows at you, the Ballista can be used in any of your units have D Rank in Bow. You have to try and defeat as many opponents as you can, because if other houses defeat enough opponents, they gain stat boosts, making them more harder to defeat. For dialogue on the Golden Deer route, Dedue will draw out the Black Eagles while Dimitri has his forces try to capture the central hill, and the house leaders have unique quotes if Byleth or your own house leader goes up against them.
It will take a lot of time to go over each unit, but I will go over the items you can get, there is a chest at the south part of the map which contains a Killer Lance, and you can get the Chest Key by defeating Bernadetta, or an enemy Archer if you have recruited her. If you have a Thief, you can steal items from other units, the most common being the Vulnerary, which you can steal from Hubert, Petra, Bernadetta, Linhardt, Dorothea, Felix, Ashe, Mercedes, and Annette. You can steal a Leather Shield from Ferdinand and Dedue, an Accuracy Ring from Edelgard, and an Evasion Ring from Dimitri. The house leaders are really tough, Edelgard has a higher chance of getting a successful hit, while Dimitri can avoid attacks easier.
I will go over the house leaders, both have Seiros Mercenaries for their Battalions, and they both have a high Charm stat, so they could use them. Edelgard has a Tomahawk, which is a more powerful Hand Axe, and her Accuracy Ring fixes up the low Accuracy of Tomahawk, she has Seal Strength and Seal Magic to reduce your Strength and Magic by 6 after combat, and her best stats are Strength, Charm, and HP.
Dimitri has a Spear, a more powerful Javelin, but with less Accuracy, and his Steel Lance can really hurt, as Dimitri has good Strength, HP, and Charm for stats. He has really good stats, but his Resistance is not that great, so magic attacks can do well against him, and neither Edelgard or Dimitri can use Combat Arts in this battle.
After defeating everyone in battle, if your house is the one that defeated the most opponents, you get a Blessed Lance, which is called the Holy Lance in Japanese, and is said to drive away evil. The Blessed Lance deals bonus damage against Monster units, it restores 10% of the user's maximum HP at the start of their turn, and it requires a C Rank in Lance in order to wield it, so this is a good reward if you can defeat as many opponents as you can.
We go through a bunch of scenes, and if you have Marianne and Lorenz at B Support before that scene, you get some extra dialogue.
