Pokémon Sword & Shield Wild Area Event: Get Cheeky With Skwovet and Greedent
0It is the return of a previous Wild Area Event, it is the Skwovet-themed event, giving you a good chance of collecting some Berries. This event will be live from January 8th till January 11th, and it has the same Pokémon from before, so you can find Skwovet and its evolved form Greedent in the Max Raid Battles, and some Grass-type Pokémon like Cherubi, Shiinotic, and Amoonguss.
The difference with this one and back when it went live two months ago is that Amoonguss can not appear in the 5 Star Max Raid Battles, and while you do get a rare chance of finding a guaranteed Shiny Skwovet, there is a 2% chance you can find a Shiny Greedent, and any Max Raid Battles for Skwovet and its evolved form Greedent will always give you any the EV Reducing Berries, like Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa, and Tamato, so this is a good way to collect them, and you can still get Dynite Ore and Armorite Ore from Cherubi and Shiinotic.
You can get the rarer berries, like Custap, Micle, Jaboca, and Rowap from these Max Raid Battles, Custap Berry is a very helpful item, as that allows a Pokémon to move first in battle if it is at low health, and it has seen good use on Pokémon with Sturdy, or even Pokémon with Endure and Flail or Reversal combo, so there are a bunch of things you can do with a Custap Berry.
With the Jaboca Berry, if the user is hit by a Physical Attack, the attacker will take damage, Rowap Berry has the same effect, but for Special Attacks, and Micle Berry boosts the Pokémon's Accuracy if its HP is low, so those are some nice effects, but out of these, Custap Berry is the one that sees good use in online battles.
While I did go over the Skwovet line back when this Wild Area Event was last live, but with the chance of finding Shiny Greedent, this does give you some good odds of finding one, but they are very rare in the Max Raid Battles.
I did write in the description of previous Max Raid Battles that I would visit Galar's Wild Area or the Isle of Armor in future Max Raid Battles, and for this one, I decided to go back to the Wild Area in Galar, because I find that easier to navigate. I did like the Isle of Armor's Max Raid Battles, as those gave you Armorite Ore, which is important for a bunch of stuff on the Isle of Armor, like Move Tutor and many other things, and even though you can get Dynite Ore in the Crown Tundra Max Raid Battles, you can easily grind Dynite Ore in Dynamax Adventures, and the Crown Tundra is the one I find the hardest time going around to find raids due to how large it is compared to all the other Wild Areas.
