Ever wonder what running all parkour-like through a cityscape in the dead of winter while wearing a Santa suit would be like? If so, then you're in luck, because Free Running's Christmas special is here.

Like the first couple games, Free Running 2 takes you to the city where you're tasked with running from the starting point to the finish line (well, finish plume of colored smoke, but you get the idea) in as little time as possible. Also like the previous game, along the way you'll encounter urban obstacles of every sort and you'll have to jump, climb, and tumble your way through them all. What's different here with the Christmas special is that you'll be doing it amidst a snow storm. Further, you can pick up gifts and other Christmasy bonuses for extra points. Nab a nicely wrapped gift and you'll be able to, as aforementioned, run about like the fat man himself.

The game is essentially the same graphically as Free Running 2, but the environments have been touched up to reflect the winter aspect of the game. Not only that, but the bonuses are different too as you'll be able to grab different Christmas related things that, of course, weren't around in the previous game.

The controls for the game are simple enough, you move around with the arrow keys and hit the "x" key to grab and climb onto things. While the controls are simple, the game is not. You'll be presented with a complicated path to your goal and it's up to you which path to take. There are no right or wrong paths, just different options. Granted, some paths will lead you away from the Christmas bonuses, so there's that. As there's no actual limit to how many tims you can try the level, you're free to experiment and find the best route to grab all the Christmas gifts possible.

Like Free Running 2 the Christmas special starts you off hard. You won't have the luxury of the first few levels acting as tutorials of sorts, where there was only a single path open to the player in order to provide a comfortable means to get familiar with the controls and how to go about the game. This game instead has the multiple paths from the start of the game, perhaps under the impression that you've already played the first game and thus need no coddling.

So go on and get in the Christmas spirit and give Free Running 2's Christmas Special a shot!
