Welcome to Dead Paradise 3, the latest in the Dead Paradise series of games! With this game, you'll travel from broken down cities, to dusty rural trails, and up snowy mountains in an explosive bid for survival in a post apocalyptic wasteland. Sounds like fun? It absolutely is.

If you've played any of the Dead Paradise games previously, then you'll have a good idea how this game plays out. You'll be given a ride, and you'll have to get from point A to point B without exploding while at the same time, trying to explode the ever loving crap out of everything that moves.

Perhaps one of the great things about the game is that the aforementioned exploding the crap out of everything looks really good. The graphics are not 3D as is common with most games now, but the 2D is of great quality and the details are superb. All of the enemies are different, with each type of enemy having its own fully-detailed and well-drawn sprite. Animations for each sprite are top-notch as well, and you won't have any dull visuals anywhere. Also of note are the backgrounds and levels. They're all done at the most professional of levels, and each level is chock-full of great scenery that not only adds to the aesthetic of the game, but it also adds to the atmosphere making it that much better.

As with previous games, you'll start out with a ride, as stated above. Sure, at first, the ride isn't all that great, but as you progress through the game you'll be able to upgrade it with different weaponry, engines, armor, tires, etc... To do so, you'll have to gather money in each level while also blasting everything to pieces. Typically, the more that you destroy on a level, the better. As you can repeat levels, it's a simple matter to simply grind a single level until you're able to get every upgrade possible. On the other hand, that's not really all that much fun, so it's not advisable.

With each level, you'll have the option of buying certain upgrades for that level. These range from extra rockets to double damage and all sorts of things in between. You won't need all those upgrades for each level, but at times (especially on the more difficult ones) it'll be prudent to do so. The most common one you'll be getting will probably be extra rockets, as it's easy to spam those in a level to quickly wipe out a wave of baddies within seconds.

Unlike the previous games, you're not alone here. All the levels are escort missions. Though that sounds bad, and the words typically make any gamer cringe, it's not really as painful as escort missions typically are. The convoy you're protecting also has firepower at its disposal. The firepower it brings to bear can be useful in early levels, but you shouldn't rely solely on it to defend itself. You'll still have to do most of the damage-dealing and damage-taking, but it's not entirely helpless.

So what are you waiting for? Go on and give Dead Paradise 3 a shot, you won't regret it!
