The Cycle is a first of its kind competitive quest shooter. Delivering both PVE and PVP in a sudo like Battleroyale environment where players must complete contracts, collect materials, and survive against hordes of enemies,
including the most dangerous of all.... Man.
You are a Contractor hired by 1 of 3 factions to secure resources found about the planet before the planet becomes entirely uninhabitable, but you're not alone, there are other contractors out there, and they want the resources for them selves and they're willing to kill for them. The player who completes the most contracts by gathering resources, and escapes the planet is deemed the winner of the round.
Use the materials you gather on the planet to craft blue prints you earn from leveling up the factions, as well upgrades and accessories for your weapons and abilities. Once you've crafted these items and equipped them in your loadout, they can be purchased each round for credits you earn from killing monsters and completing contracts.
Play alone, or with friends in duos or Squads. Or team up in a solo game by calling a pact with your would be killer. If you wanna practice there's a virtual training ground where you can test the guns, explosives, and abilities. Still not ready? Play a virtual match with no PVP. Keep in mind you do not keep the materials gathered in a virtual match
Customization to your character is available though VERY limited. That is untill you unlock some custom skins in the fortuna pass, much like every other game with a season pass there is a free one, and a paid one that you can level up by completing daily and weekly challenges.
The Cycle is being developed by yager. The same developer behind Spec ops: the line, The Cycle was released on the epic game store in early access in september of 2019. that however doesn't mean that the cycle isn't a completely fleshed out and fluid feeling game. Everything from the animations, to the gun play, and my personal pet peeve, the movement, feels good and solid. I haven't had any issues with hit markers, desync or lag. However I have had server crashes, unexplained game crashes, and, sometimes when I click shoot... it no shoot. But these issues have been few in number. The majority of rounds go smoothly.
so if you like first person competitive quest PvPvE shooters (and ya don't cause you've never played one before now) than maybe this is the competitive quest PvPvE shooters for you... cause there isn't any others.
