This is the second mission of the Special Operations Command loop of the Renegade Resurgence campaign for Freespace 2. I had intended to go into Freespace Blue, but I recently heard the news that TopAce, a prolific mod creator and contributor at Hard Light Productions who created this campaign, has sadly passed away. I'm playing his campaigns in his honor. We occupy the role of a pilot seconded to Special Operations Command from the 74th Predators, GTD Phoenicia. Using the stolen Valkyrie fighters we seized last mission, we are infiltrating the Altair system to conduct reconnaissance under cover. Our task is to scan targets of opportunity. We will avert suspicion by claiming the GTVA deployed a new kind of EMP weapon that disabled our weapons. We will arrive with weapons systems powered down, request support ships, and power up our weapons while docked to fool the renegades into believing it a genuine repair before going about our business.
