This is the third mission of the Special Operations Command loops of the Renegade Resurgence campaign for Freespace 2. I had intended to go into Freespace Blue, but I recently heard the news that TopAce, a prolific mod creator and contributor at Hard Light Productions who created this campaign, has sadly passed away. I'm playing his campaigns in his honor. We occupy the role of a pilot seconded to Special Operations Command from the 122nd Gemini, GTD Phoenicia. We did not get an option on this one; SOC drafted us on an emergency basis. Command had planned to install a meson bomb at the Vasuda-Vega jump node to disrupt any renegade attempt at a breakthrough, but the renegades have managed to steal the bomb and arm it themselves. Using stolen IFF codes, we will infiltrate Vasuda through Alpha Centauri, pretending to be a renegade-aligned squadron. The bomb's detonation codes are controlled from the RVD Judicator. We must deceive the Judicator's escorts long enough to slip in and destroy the vessel's communications system, whereupon we will immediately jump to the bomb's location and join the effort to take it back.
