Despite not being ready to fight Rennala, I decided I'd at least continue to browse Raya Lucaria. This is definitely a place I want to scour as best as I can, since it's by far the most likely to have cool sorceries and whatnot. Unfortunately, just as with the boss itself, the later rooftop areas have me running out of FP before I can see everything, so I ended up bailing for now.

One of the sending gates (those little circular magic portals - or "Magic But Hole" according to nearby messages) led me a ways out of the castle, to a "Church of Vows" with a surprisingly large Turtle Pope. This turtle (named Miriel) has some interesting insight into the over-arching lore of the world.

I need to do a better job of taking mental (or better yet, physical) notes of all this stuff cause so much of everything is being spelled out pretty clearly, and I'm both slow to connect the pieces and not necessarily understanding the significance of the bits and pieces until I get more crucial information later on.
