Queen of the Full Moon - Elden Ring pt.20 (2022-02-26)
Continuing to follow the way after the Red Wolf of Radagon, there's still quite a few tough encounters to pass. Moongrum, a Carian Knight, is especially tough, being highly resistant to magic, especially aggressive, and wielding spells like Carian Piercer. As with other melee NPCs, I ended up resorting to parries for the kill.
Eventually I made my way up to the final boss of Raya Lucaria - Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. The first part of the fight is this strange puzzle fight reminiscent of Deacons of the Deep from Dark Souls 3. Overall, it's an easy fight if you know what you look for - though it does somewhat suffer from everything's resistance to magic damage.
The second half of the fight is something else entirely. The overall aesthetic, from the fight arena itself to the music, is one of my favorite boss fights from any of the Souls games so far. The boss itself is really fun to see - I'm a big fan of magic in these games and this has a Mega-Man-style "X meets Zero" style feel where I get to see the pinnacle of sorcery.
The boss is a bit too tough for me for now though - I think I'm a bit under-leveled and really could stand to find some non-magic damage types for my sorceries.
