Spent some time browsing Dominula, the Windmill Village. While I couldn't remember the name of the movie at time (nor have I yet watched it), it's a pretty clear reference to Midsommar. Pretty creepy to randomly encounter something like that in a Souls game.
I eventually made who I assume is Goldmask - based on, you know, the gold mask. He wasn't so interested in discussion, so all I could do was try to glean some insight from the current focus of his attention and then move on from there.
Later on I browsed a bit more of Altus Plateau, fighting some bosses in the forest and ruins, and even previewing some castle in a swamp that I won't be reaching for quite some time.
I ended the session taking a peek into Mount Gelmir, which I believe Gideon had mentioned at some point.
