Gears 5 (Xbox Series S) - Gameplay
Please read the description for my thoughts and details, if any, regarding the game or the recording.
Welcome to Game Play. A series, of sorts, where I check out various video games and share the pure gameplay experience with you.
Today we're taking a look at Gears 5 on the Xbox Series S.
My immediate impressions so far:
This is it. The big one.
Gears 5 is one of the most graphically impressive games on the Xbox platform I've ever played. It looked fantastic on the One X, and I haven't tried it out on the Series X, but how does it fare on the Series S?
Once again, the Series S delivers an impressive performance. Especially with HDR applied, Gears 5 can truly look remarkable running on even "lesser" hardware such as the Series S. I believe the game runs at 1080p at 60fps natively on the console, but I've sadly no way to verify this, but it certainly felt smooth overall. The console is set to upscale the content to 4K, which simply looks great, and the image quality is sharp and colorful.
Gears 5 is one of my favorite third person shooters of the last generation, so if you haven't checked it out yet, you should definitely do yourself the favor and get to it :)
The game was recorded directly on the console to an external HDD. No postwork has been done.
