These are clips that show a glitch called “TV cancel” that were found by Andypanther. If you want to read more about this cool glitch, read under the “Other” section of this link. The basic idea is that these tricks let you stay inside of a level while still collecting the remote.

Some of these were already known about but these skips can be used in Any% and 100% runs. Keep an eye on your lives in Any% if you decided to do these in a run though. The firefly and the icy fly powerup makes these skips easier. Just a warning though: on some of these skips if Gex touches a ground piece that is not lava after he touches the green pad of the tv, Gex will go in the TV and soft lock the game. This is due to being too far away from the TV. An example of this would be in the level “This Old Cave” where if you land on the ground and not the lava, your game would be soft locked.

Frankensteinfeld: The skips save even more time in 100% since you don’t loose any collectables as you death abuse unlike Gex 3. Since these skips are also one of the faster ones, I would use these skips in Any%. At 2:15, you could karate kick back to a platform that goes to the “Stick Across the Ceiling Maze” remote more feasible with the firefly. This can be used in the 100% route.

Fine Tooning: The camera can mess with you when you attempt this skip. Hopefully, there can be a 100% route that doesn’t involve jumping across the water to the dock in the first area but the fastest route may involve jumping to the dock twice at the beginning. One of the faster tricks.

Pangaea 90210: You actually have to TV cancel twice to land on the lava then you fall down for the first one. I think for the second one you should not go for not unless you have a very specific 100% route.

Pain in the Asteroids: This skip is hard to do because of the fixed camera angle. This is actually a skip that isn’t worth doing.

Mazed and Confused: Kind of a hard one to do.

This Old Cave: The 2nd skip and the 3rd skip are more reliable then the 1st skip because for the first skip you would likely have to tail whack 2 times without the icy fly. I don’t know if hitting that checkpoint is worth it since the icy fly is at the beginning. Maybe it is for the “Bounce up the flowers” remote.

Any Space Level: All you have to do is to jump over the green pad of a tv when you are out of air, this saves a ton of time in 100%.

You have to tail whip two times to get off the rock.

Hopefully this video will help people. Someday I would like to run Gex 2 and 3 on the N64 considering how different they are.
