Gex 2 Small Tricks and Glitches
10These are some small things that I found/witnessed recently.
The first clip is a trick when Gex slides on the rainbow really fast as the cutscene plays. It isn’t too hard to do and all you have to do is hit the last purple mushroom late enough and then press the hit button again when Gex is on the rainbow. You want to have Gex to be in a certain angle so that Gex cannot “fall” off the rainbow early. If you fall early, Gex would freeze in an earlier place. In this example, I angled Gex’s direction for Gex to be heading to the green pad of the TV while still making him ride the rainbow so he falls off near the TV. If I were holding down while performing the 2nd hit, then Gex would fall at the beginning of the rainbow.
The second clip shows a skip that can save seconds within a 100% TAS speedrun.
The third and forth clips show Gex dying on the green pad of a TV while saying a random dialog. Then when Gex enters the next TV within the same level without exiting the level, he will not say any dialog. This is only beneficial on the PS1 system since on the N64, you could disable the voices.
About the fifth last clip, I don’t know if this is caused by the debug mode because I had that on but I doubt it. This is actually the second time something weird like this in the boss battle happened to me. The first one was from years ago but I still need to find the video. I feel like this game still have testing to do on why certain things happen.
