63Golden Axe is another arcade port which manages to get fairly close to the arcade original, only slower, easier, and slightly less colourful.

After Simon and I tried Double Dragon on the C64, we turned our attention to Golden Axe. The first two plays ended in disaster, but the 3rd play went slightly better. Its frustrating to get almost to the end, but somehow this once easy game in both 1 and 2 player modes seemed to fly beyond our reach.
I totally ran out of time on this show, and the vid was 'finished' 8pm Friday, leaving 3 hours to upload it. By 11pm there was still too long to go (I like to upload raw renders over compressed renders, even though compression would have meant this upload in a fraction of the time). So I finished uploading on Saturday. I'd wanted to include a comparison zone but didnt get a chance, as it takes a few hours to sort out just that little bit sometimes. I downloaded all the art from the titles, intending to show this when I talk about the characters in the show, but didnt have time to insert them. I also gave up on the volume balancing after 'the makers of this game' section, and most of the words after that were audible anyway.
Lastly, I cheated the image on the cartoon intro section by overlaying a golden axe over the existing intro film, as I didnt have time to wait for this to render again, or any spare tracks on the cartoon anim to do this anyway. I then decided to have the crab pick it up and walk around with it. But the big flood title gets in the way of all that, so I took back the transparency/fade of that item so it becomes visible again during the last seconds of the intro, so you can see it. The axe is from the Amiga version. The other ports and arcade original mostly had a gray steel axe, leading to confusion in the storyline.
I'm going to take a break for several weeks now to get on with other stuff. I wanted to do a classic movies show and a 'help guide to life' kinda show, as well as 'the top 50 amiga models' and continue the 'top 50 amiga racing games', stuff like that. Trouble is, I cant even make a start on those with work coming in and struggling to get these playguides out each week. So its going to be at least a month off, and I may just come back with an Xmas special. It hurts me more than it hurts you guys to not have an amiga review or c64 classic game to look forward to each weekend, but if I continue like this I'm going to get burned out, and I can feeling that starting, so best to take a long break and come back fresh and keen. Even if this means this series (renamed from Season) starts again next April or something...
I also thought about starting up a fan club, with a tenner access getting you exclusives. A kickstarter to fund the next set of videos, or just a tip jar, to support all the shows so far. But I guess very few would be excited about that? Then again, after thinking about it, I thought I'd better give it a try... so look out for a very small kickstarter soon...and we'll see who's up for it.

So far, I've only noticed I spelled 'Fiends Path by daXX' as 'Friends Path' in the closing credits, and this song seems to appear under both names on the internet.
Secondly, the intro says "Liquid Kids, Played on A500". Oops.
