Grandia ReDux is a hack that modifies many things in game. Character stats are greatly changed, skills are buffed/nerfed, equipment changed, new items/spells, and most importantly, the difficulty has been rebalanced to provide a more challenging game overall.

Whereas the 1 vs 1 fights with Gadwin & Baal 1 were not exactly tricky, this one has the capability to be a nightmare if your Justin is underpowered.

Mullen has 9998 HP and some deadly attacks.

You're lucky if he uses something like a buff, Heal, or magic attacks. The magic attacks only hit for 100-110 damage or so.

It's his skill with the sword that proves to be deadly in this fight.

Firstly, he can attack twice for around 80-90 damage a hit. That's a fair bit over 1/3rd of my Justin's max HP right now.

Sonic Boom hits for around 100-110 damage and debuffs Wit. Really crappy if you get hit by it 2-3 times.

Finally, Rising Dragon Cut. No debuff trickery attached to it, but it can hit for 160+ damage.

Defending might sound like a logical thing to do to keep damage down, but in duels like this one, that's only going to result in you taking more damage than you would have taken just eating the attack at full power.

Anyways, Black Nail Polishes rule again for this fight. You'll want to pray that Mullen opens with something like a buff or a magic attack so you can Have at least 2-3 on hand since Mullen can use Vanish...and he's sort of a happy trigger finger to throw that off if too many buffs/debuffs are in place like in the Baal 2 fight.

Next, Midair Cuts like your life depended on it. Each one should hopefully cut off at least 1/4th of Mullen's HP each usage or more.

Now, one problem could arise in the form of Justin's HP getting too low and Mullen prepping some kind of attack that can KO him. You've got two options if that comes about. Either use a Superb or Red Pill (Healer isn't gonna cut it in this fight) and hope he doesn't spam high powered attacks or use Immortal Aura and damage race him down before it wears off.

With that, the final dungeon is opened up. Sure I have to WALK ALL THE DAMN WAY DOWN THROUGH THE ICARIAN CITY to utilize a stashing place to get setup for the pair of boss fights I have to go through before reaching the next recovery spot + stashing place near the final battles. Seriously, would it have hurt the developers to put a stashing place in J Base?
