Grandia ReDux is a hack that modifies many things in game. Character stats are greatly changed, skills are buffed/nerfed, equipment changed, new items/spells, and most importantly, the difficulty has been rebalanced to provide a more challenging game overall.

ISOs should be easy enough to find on your own.

Did some grinding before this fight...and for good reason. Baal 3 is by far the hardest fight up to this point in the game. Every body part sports a high amount of HP and all but one part has some very very nasty attacks.

The main body has 27000 HP, is extremely strong, and sports a rather high Wit score of 1000. Besides his usual Vanish spamming, he can use Grand Cross & Gaia Tail. Grand Cross sucks everyone in close to Baal, then he slaps everyone for 60-160 damage without any defense buffs.

The greater danger here though is Gaia Tail. This hits a single character for around 300-400 damage and removes all buffs & debuffs from that character. Considering how fast the main body is, this can be deadly if it chooses to spam this to hell and back.

His Right Tentacle has 17000 HP, low defenses, and ends up being another source of painful attacks, this time in the form of magic spells. Not low level magic spells mind you, but high end ones like BA-BOOM!, DragonZap, and GadZap. GadZap deserves mentioning because it can hit a single target for anywhere from 250-500 damage. Basically, Justin gets OHKO'd by this and Rapp comes close to that. Hell, Feena might even get OHKO'd if she doesn't have a high enough max HP pool.

The other two attacks mentioned hit everyone for 100-250 damage.

The Left Tentacle has 21000 HP, low defenses, and supports Baal with healing via Alheal, but mainly focuses on debuffing your party with Stram & Cold. While those two spells are annoying, it's better than having attacks that hit really hard.

Finally, the Gaia Cyst. It has the lowest HP of any body part here, 14000. High magic defenses, but its Vit, while higher than the rest of the body parts, is still rather low.

It spams two attacks. Seed Burst hits everyone for 70-80 damage while Death Mark likewise hits everyone, but is stronger, doing 150-170 damage.

While that might not seem like anything the other damaging body parts dish out, it is insanely fast. Sporting a Wit of 1800, it'll be getting its turns left and right, meaning those attacks are gonna add up.

So...how do you go about beating this pain of a boss?

First thing's first, Gaia Cyst needs to go down ASAP. The rate at which it gets turns is only gonna end up overwhelming you if it's not dropped quickly.

Standard opening strategy. Whomever goes first throws a Mage Lips to Feena, then she fires up Time Gate and does her usual buffing procedures. If she still has time left to burn before it wears off, throw a Deep Blue Potion or Blue Pill. That way she has some extra lv1 and lv3 MPs to throw around later in the fight for emergencies.

The task for Rapp, Justin, and Liete is to bomb the living hell out of that damned Gaia Cyst. One Doppelganger + Redshock with buffs should knock out half of its HPs or close to it.

Liete's next turn after that should be to throw a Protect on Feena. You're gonna need her available to throw down something like Alhealer+, Tree of Life, or Resurrection/Res Potions early on and you can't afford to lose her this early. Sure you might have Revival Stones you could burn, but you're gonna want to conserve those for the final boss.

Once that Gaia Cyst goes down, turn your attention to the Right Tentacle. Since it has low defenses all around, Justin can opt to use his single target killer moves with elements attached to them. Thor Cut can dish out damage comparable to Doppelganger with enough buffs setup.

At this point though, another lovely screw you moment likely pops up. Baal is gonna throw out Vanish at some point, erasing all those hard earned buffs. Not much you can do here except try to buff either Justin or Rapp with WOW! before they get a turn. Liete can do some nice damage with GadZap or Meteor Strike here so she has no more need for Redshock for the rest of the battle.

Once you get that Right Tentacle killed, things suddenly become much more manageable. First off, Baal loses the ability to use Grand Cross since he needs both tentacles alive if he wants to use it. That means the only source of damage he's gonna have at this point is Gaia Tail. Granted he's quite fast so it can be tough to keep up with the damage it deals, but at this point smart playing will see you through to the end.

The rewards from this fight...just experience. No awesome items sadly. 63837 XP though will likely level everyone unless they just barely managed to get their last level.

Two more fights and this series of boss videos will be over and done with folks!
