Grandia ReDux is a hack that modifies many things in game. Character stats are greatly changed, skills are buffed/nerfed, equipment changed, new items/spells, and most importantly, the difficulty has been rebalanced to provide a more challenging game overall.

Gaia Armor is an interesting fight, if nothing else. It's an upgraded version of the Massacre Machine bosses found near the end of the 1st disc.

If you've watched my videos for those two, you'd know that I basically curbstomped them and had no trouble at all.

This one isn't quite like that, but still, I'd say it's easier to handle than Gaia Trent.

First off, the boss has 24000 HP and, like the Massacre Machines, the eye & main body share that same HP pool. It also has lower than average magic resists so Liete can put up some nice numbers with her magic attacks.

The main body is extremely fast and extremely powerful. Its normal attacks hit for at least 400+ damage...and that's factoring in a +4 def buff at least.

It also has Dead Circle, an attack that hits an area around it for a little less damage than its normal attack, but can induce move sealing.

The other attack it can use is Killer Tackle, hitting anyone it targets for 230+ damage. Unlike the normal attack & Dead Circle, you can't reduce the damage from this attack with def buffs and atk debuffs.

The Eye...is amusing to say the least. While it's slow, it can potentially help your party out as it can throw a powerful healing spell on your party that will heal everyone for 500 HP and throw debuffs on the main body. Yes it does have Vanish, but that's a small price to pay in this battle.

Usual opening strategy. Mage Lips on Feena, fire up Time Gate, get her away from everyone else, buff people up, resort to healing/reviving once time resumes again.

Justin could opt to use a Def-Loss here if you choose. Gaia Armor has enough Vit that one casting will boost your damage output by a fair amount.

Otherwise it's another Redshock/Midair Cut/Doppelganger spamfest until the boss folds.

The boss drops two nice items which are a 2nd Spirit Armor to give to either Justin or Rapp, whomever doesn't have one equipped ATM, and an Eye of Friendship. This is a reusable item that heals the entire party for ~200 HP, something that would be perfect for Rapp to hold onto for emergencies.
