Gravity Circuit: Part 2: Welcome Back to Guardian Corps HQ
After rescuing Kernel right in front of Guardian Corps HQ, Kai the Gravity Circuit was invited to join Kernel right inside of the building.
Kernel, if it wasn't obvious of the pun of his name, is the colonel or commander of the Guardian Corps. He led the plan to find Kai's damaged body and try to repair him and save his life, but at present, it looks like Kai lost a lot of his memories from his previous battle against the Virus Army several decades ago.
It was thought that Kai was the ONLY surviving Circuit left, but Kernel was just recently attacked by Cable, the Power Circuit. He had to assume that other Circuits were still alive as well... but are now working for the Virus Army, instead...
With Kai's lack of memories of his past life, Kernel had to rely on a Plan B within his own Corps to see what they could figure out, while Kai makes himself at home, there.
----------
This is a cute little hub where you can talk to many NPCs. Each of them will leave behind some kind of Data Chip that represnts them.
If an NPC is more important than others, then they'll get portrait art like what you saw between Kai & Kernel. Another example besides Kernel is Alph.
Alph is an absolute bookworm, and takes a bit of a while to analyze who Kai even is when he first see him, which annoys him pretty hard.
Alph will keep some kind of record of every single character in this game, all NPCs including himself, enemies, and even bosses.
The Data Chips you get from NPCs and enemies can be turn into a data entry of the exact character that dropped them for you to pick up. For NPCs, you have to talk to them once or twice. For enemies, they may randomly drop them. For bosses, they ALWAYS drop them after you beat them.
Just pay a fee, and Alph will log these entries in. It's just for collecting and bragging rights.
----------
Another significant NPC you'll find in the HQ is the Nurse. She has a highly passionate drive of helping the injured innocent... as well as a SCARY temper towards anyone that has threatened them...!
Your task with her is to rescue civilians throughout the main stages, and there will be 8 in each of them. For each rescue, you get a Rescue Token.
If you have enough Rescue Tokens, along with enough cash, you can purchase Enhancement Chips that will boost Kai's passive capabilities, such as the Energy Absorber chip that the Nurse gives you for free. There are many of these kind of chips for you to buy and collect, but you can only equip 3 at a time.
----------
ABOVE Kernel's Mission Command, there's a Training Room where you can practice all of your moves and upgrades against a training dummy.
The dummy spawns infinitely, so even if you destroy one, you'll get another in a couple seconds. Wailing on it too much will also trigger an Overlimit Mode and render it invincible for a moment.
After this, it's about time to see what's up with Commander Colonel Kernel.
