Welcome to this week’s Xbox News Minute.
GTA 5 has a release date for the next gen consoles and will be launching on Xbox Series X/S consoles as well as PS5 on March 15th. This is the 3rd console generation that the game has released on. Rockstar also casually dropped a bombshell that GTA 6 is under active development. Holy crap!!!
Phil Spencer made some interesting comments in an interview this week explaining some of the motivation for the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Spencer stated that the Xbox philosophy has always been to be on as many platforms as possible and that the mobile and casual gamer demographics were a couple of areas that had previously been untapped. This makes sense as Xbox now owns King, best known as the makers of Candy Crush, through the Activision Blizzard deal.
