Half-Life 1 DSOAL: Broken ambient rolloff in Aureal A3D mode
Use headphones only with any virtual surround features turned off.
As I mentioned in the main Half-Life 1 DSOAL video, there seems to be a major bug in Aureal A3D mode that carries over from hardware to software emulation. Certain ambient sounds seem to have broken rolloff compared to in default software or EAX mode. You can also hear that Aureal A3D with DSOAL emulation uses the default software reverb too instead of any kind of translated wavetracing.
