When I had originally heard Yamaha Vireal HRTF from a Japanese Youtube video of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwGYNkUgsfI), I was baffled by the strange phasing issues the video had. After recording RE7 myself, the HRTF sounded perfectly normal. I thought that maybe the uploader had Dynamic Range set to "Large", so I recorded this to try and recreate the conditions.

Strangely enough, Capcom seems to have gotten mixed up when it comes to the term "Dynamic Range". In RE7, small Dynamic Range audio is uncompressed whereas large Dynamic Range audio is highly compressed. This is in fact the opposite case in real life. A large dynamic range should mean that there are large fluctuations between the peak loudness and the most quiet parts of an audio sample. In other words, it should be "Large" Dynamic Range that is uncompressed.

Well, this was kind of pointless but at least it shows that both settings have somewhat viable HRTF compared to the video linked above. There's no Quake Champions bullshit compression going on, either.
