Okay, this is one of the coolest fucking things I've ever heard in a video game. In the 2004 game "The Suffering", the developers actually added 3D sounds that pan all around you on the title screen. How many other games have done this? Since The Suffering was originally developed for consoles, this effect must've been intended for 5.1 speaker panning. The spatialized effect sounds even better with headphone HRTF enforced with OpenAL Soft through DSOAL, though.
