The Defence Secretary has been in Afghanistan as negotiations get underway with senior Afghan military chiefs about which patrol bases their forces will inherit, and which ones will disappear as ISAF troops withdraw.

Philip Hammond visited various patrol bases to see how the military is planning to get British vehicles and equipment out of the country ahead of drawdown in 2014.
