The Army has announced it is keeping the vehicles bought for Afghanistan even once Britain's role there is over.

The new Commander Land Forces has confirmed that Mastiffs, Jackals, Huskies and Panthers are all here to stay.

Some will simply fill a gap until a new Utility Vehicle is designed and put into service, while it looks like others will stay in the army even longer.

Lieutenant General Adrian Bradshaw made the announcement to an industry audience at the International Armoured Vehicles trade fair.
