The 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment have marked Sobraon Day at their home base in Paderborn.

The regimental day honours the end of the first Anglo Sikh war in 1846, when a Sergeant took over the carrying of the colours to rally the troops.

It is the only time of the year when the colours leave the Officers Mess to be marched over to the Sergeants Mess, before being kept there for 24 hours.
