Your mission is to infiltrate the biggest enemy territory and raid it by air. Maneuver your helicopter and shoot boats, jet skis, fighter planes, and turrets. Avoid getting hit by the enemy's projectiles or else you will receive damage. There are also power ups on the game that you can use to power up your helicopter. Collect the gold coins the enemy will drop and save them to but new helicopters.

In a word, vertical shooters are awesome. In another word, and about another thing, helicopters are also awesome. Combine the two into a vertical shooter where you control an assault chopper rather than a fighter jet, and you've got a real winner, and that's exactly what you get with Heli Hell!
Even at first glance, without taking into consideration just how amazingly awesome attack choppers are, it's easy to see how great the game is. There's a touch of professionalism and panache that isn't really as evident in a lot of other free vertical shooters out there. There are certainly some that are pretty good, but there aren't a lot that are in the same league as Heli Hell.
The first clue to how great the game is is in just how amazing it looks. The game is in 3D, but not in the cheaply made low-poly 3D that you see in other mobile games. No, this is some really great stuff, with a lot of care having gone into each and every tiny little detail on the different models. And this is evident not only in the player-controlled chopper, but in all of the enemy sprites and environmental obstacles as well. Everywhere you look, there's more and more detail to be had, making for a great visual feast.
In addition to the basic graphics, you've also got all sorts of effects that make brilliant use of particle systems to create an action-packed and visually appealing scene of utter destruction and chaos. Everything from the rockets leaving trails of smoke, to the explosions sending up fiery clouds of death, to the shots you fire (all of which are strangely tracer rounds, but hey, it's a game, and it's fun, so who cares) all have their own little effects that make the game that much more enjoyable.
What's more, you've got a great soundtrack to back the game up, making it not only great to look at, but great to listen to as well. All of the different attacks and events all have their own sounds, so the chaos (beautiful chaos, but chaos nonetheless) is supplemented by the beautifully made sounds of warfare.
As with other vertical shooters, you're at the bottom of the screen moving forwards into ever increasing waves of bad guys. As you go through them, you'll gather powerups, bonuses, and all sorts of vertical shooter goodness with each exploded baddie along the way. Just keep in mind, if it's moving, then you should probably shoot it for points. And even if it's not moving and is just sitting around minding its own business, shoot it as well, you never know. And as you progress through each level, you'll see more and more types of bad guy, all with their own special attack patterns and whatnot, making for an excellent vertical shooting experience.
