Hideous Destructor | Spencer Mansion | No Failure Run | Part 1
An hour long adventure deep inside the world of survival horror. Naturally, the HDD can't resist the power and made me split the vid in half. This is the first part.
Anyway, yeah, ladies and gents. Resident Evil in Doom! PROPERLY this time around. Got off my lazy caboose and finally took the time to rip out the Codename Hunk monsters and make a gameplay mod out of them (which took me a while as there's a lot of CH-specific functions that I tore out and have to find workarounds for). With full encumbrance and a proper Spencer Mansion map (closest thing there is at the moment), it's perfect.
Naturally, HD made the zombies in CH weak with its weapons, which is why I added in Universal Destructor. It's basically an adapter pack that allows custom monsters to pack as much punch as classic HD monsters. Though still pretty weak, these guys can run my health from full to empty if I let my guard down.
An interesting incident happened while I was recording the demo for this, a crash in the part after the two Nemesis' and a desync later that ended with demo me staring into the floor, occasionally shooting for 10-ish minutes before dying to a random zombie. Running them again thankfully has the issues fix themselves somehow.
Regarding whether or not I should release the CH enemy mod: HalfBakedCake/TwelveEyes in YT is currently doing the same thing as I but better (the CH mod on their front has zombie latching, faster speed for deadlier BOWs, less messy code, etc). It might be best to wait for them to finish their side for releases.
