Recently, when I was helping a player transition a fighter + wizard multiclass to the 2024 rules, I became curious about what such a character could do with their Action Surge feature from Fighter since that feature and the rules of casting have changed since the 2014 rules. Doing a little digging in the book, I noticed there's a potential way around the new limitations (action surge can't be used for the Magic action), since there's actually 2 actions that can be used to cast spells: the Magic action and the Ready action.
I go over the mechanics of how this works and what it gains a player. Since this tactic may not be Rules as Intended (RAI), you should talk with your DM before using it. I go over my own allowance criteria, and give some reasons why I might allow this myself.

What do you think? Would you allow this? As a player, is this even something you'd want to use? What do you think about the "Reaction Surge" tactic? Let me know in the comments!
