D&D 5e Class Overview: Fighter (2024 PHB)
This series is designed to provide an overview of each of the classes in D&D 5e. The goal is to provide an understanding of the ins and outs of each class to (hopefully) inspire new characters. In this video, I cover the Fighter class for D&D 5e, as updated in the new 2024 PHB. Note that the ratings at the end of the video are considering only the core class, and not how each subclass works. Fighter has seen buffs, both in some of their class features and how some of the other rules have been changed. In particular, they should be more durable with a buffed Second Wind and a massively buffed Indomitable, and have a bit better damage and control with weapon masteries and the changes to how feats work (granting stats for all general feats). Action surge no longer really works for chaining spells, since the extra action can't be used to take the Magic action. It's still useful for spellsword type characters though; you can cast a spell, action surge, then make attacks.
All opinions in this video are mine. Agree? Disagree? Have a different opinion, or saw something I missed? Let me know in the comments!
