How to Change the Default USB Configuration on POCO M3 | Enable USB File Transfer
Hey guys! Welcome to Pinoy Tech Tips!
In this video, I will demonstrate the actual process of changing the default USB configuration on the POCO M3 smartphone.
POCO M3 USB File Transfer
Aside from wireless file transfer, recent mobile devices, particularly Android smartphones also support USB file transfer. That said, you can transfer contents from your smartphone to a computer via USB connection. It typically follows a plug-and-play protocol, so your device should be all set for file transfer the moment you connect it to the computer via USB. But in some cases, it doesn’t work that way.
In fact, what some smartphones do when plugged into the computer’s USB port is to only charge. The reason for this is because the default USB configuration is set to charging. To change this to file transfer, you will need to access and configure the USB configuration settings on the phone.
And here’s how it’s done on the POCO M3 smartphone.
Easy Steps to Change the Default USB Configuration on POCO M3
Before you begin, make sure that you’ve already enabled Developer Options on your phone.
Once everything is ready, access the Apps viewer on your phone then find and tap the Settings icon.
The settings menu will open, prompting a list of all built-in features and settings.
Scroll to find Additional settings from the list. Then, tap on it to proceed.
Scroll down to the bottom section. Then, tap Developer options.
If you don't see developer options, then you will need to unlock it first.
While on the Developer Options menu, scroll down to the Debugging section and make sure that the USB debugging switch is turned on. Doing so activates debug mode when USB is connected.
Continue to scroll down until you get to the Networking section.
Then, select Default USB configuration from the given options.
On the next screen, you will see a list of USB functions.
Tap to check File Transfer from the given options.
Doing so enables file transfer via USB connection. This means that you can access the phone's internal storage when it's plugged into the computer's USB port.
There is also an option to enable USB tethering, transfer photos and more.
Just tap to mark your preferred option.
And that's how to change the default USB configuration on the POCO M3 smartphone.
