How to Change the Install Locations for Games & Move to New Drive on PS5 Console (Fast Tutorial)
To change the install location of games and move them to a new drive on your PS5 console, you can follow the steps below:
Go to Settings from the home page of your PS5 console.
Select Storage from the Settings menu.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Installation Location.
Choose the M.2 SSD as the default installation location for games.
Go back to the Storage menu and select Console Storage.
Press the X button on the game you want to move.
Select Move to M.2 SSD to transfer the game to your new drive.
If you want to move games to an external hard drive, you can follow the steps below:
Connect your external hard drive to your PS5 console.
Go to Settings from the home page of your PS5 console.
Select Storage from the Settings menu.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Installation Location.
Choose USB Extended Storage as the default installation location for games.
Go back to the Storage menu and select Console Storage.
Press the Options button on the game you want to move.
Select Move to USB Extended Storage to transfer the game to your external hard drive.
