How to Delete your Conversations & Chat History on Snapchat
To delete your conversations and chat history on Snapchat using your phone, follow these steps:
Delete Individual Chats or Conversations
Open Snapchat: Launch the Snapchat app on your iPhone or Android device and sign in to your account.
Access Chats: Tap the Chat icon (speech bubble) at the bottom of the camera screen to view your conversations.
Delete a Specific Message:
Open the conversation containing the message you want to delete.
Press and hold the specific message you sent (text, Snap, or media).
Tap Delete, then confirm by tapping Delete again. Note: This only removes the message from your view and may not delete it for the recipient if they’ve already seen or saved it.
Clear an Entire Conversation:
In the Chats screen, press and hold the conversation (friend’s or group’s name) you want to clear.
Tap More or Chat Settings, then select Clear Conversation.
Confirm by tapping Clear. This removes the conversation from your Chats list but doesn’t affect the other person’s chat history.
Clear All Conversations at Once
Go to Settings: Tap your Bitmoji or profile icon in the top-left corner, then tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings.
Access Clear Conversations: Scroll to the Privacy Controls or Account Actions section and tap Clear Conversations.
Confirm Deletion: Tap the X next to each conversation you want to clear, or select multiple to remove them from your Chats list. Confirm when prompted.
