About this video: In this tutorial, we show you how to download and install the Just Enough Items mod in Minecraft 1.17.1. Just Enough Items is also know and JEI because Just Enough Items is a lot to say/type over and over again. However, JEI 1.17.1 is a must have mod for Minecraft, and it is even more necessary if you are running other mods as Just Enough Items will show those mods and the crafting recipes for the items in them. On top of that, JEI can be craft items with just one click moving the items to the correct place in a crafting table. This makes crafting complicated items much, much easier. So here is how to add JEI to Minecraft 1.17.1!
The first step of getting the Just Enough Items mod for 1.17.1 is downloading and install Forge. The good news is we have a complete guide on how to get Forge for 1.17.1 in the description above. It truly will go over every single thing that you need to know about getting the Forge Mod Loader for 1.17.1. It even talks about how to fix some of the common issues you may have when installing the Forge Mod Loader. Thus, there is no way you won’t be able to us our tutorials to install Forge in 1.17.1!
After you have Forge, we can move to downloading Just Enough Items for 1.17.1. You can find the download link to JEI 1.17.1 in the description above. When you click that link, it will actually take you to our text tutorial for Just Enough Items. On this page, scroll down and click the yellow ‘Download Just Enough Items’ button. This will take you to the official Just Enough Items download page. This is on CurseForge. On CurseForge, look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down until you see the ‘Minecraft 1.17’ section. Under this, you will see ‘JEI 1.17.1’. Click the orange download button to the right of this version, and Just Enough Items will start downloading for 1.17.1. You will need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.
Once you have Just Enough Items downloaded, we can move on to actually getting it installed. To do this, press the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact same time. This will open the Run application. In this app, type ‘%appdata%’, and hit enter. Your Roaming folder will then open up. In this folder, you will see a ‘.minecraft’ folder. Open that, and you will see ‘mods’. If you don’t have a mods folder, create one. Open the mods folder, and drag-and-drop the Just Enough Items file you downloaded into this mods folder. You have now installed JEI in Minecraft 1.17.1.
You aren’t complete finished just yet though! You still need to make sure you open up Minecraft with Forge. To do this, open the Minecraft launcher and click the little arrow next to the Play button. You will see a ‘Forge’ installation here. Click that, and click the green play button. Minecraft 1.17.1 will now open up with Just Enough Items installed!
You can now go in game and easily see crafting recipes. You can also click the ‘+’ button on recipes when you are in a crafting table, and it will automatically add those items to the crafting table to make crafting them much easily.
