About this video: This video is a complete guide on how to download and install the Chisel mod in Minecraft. We also show you how to actually use the Chisel mod to create really cool block designs in Minecraft for all of your custom builds. Chisel is one of the best mods for Minecraft, and while it isn’t usually updated to the most recent version of Minecraft, that doesn’t stop it from being a truly incredible mod and one that is very much so worth adding to your game. So, without anymore delay, here is how to get the Chisel mod in Minecraft!
First things first, you will need to download the Chisel mod. The reason we are doing this first is because we need to see what version of Chisel is the most recent version in order to get the correct version of the CTM mod and Forge. When you click the Chisel download link in the description above, you will be taken to the official Chisel download page. On this page, look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down until you see a Minecraft version listed. The one closet to the top of the sidebar is the most recent version. In the file name, you will see ‘MCversionnumber’. Make note of this version number. You will need it later. Finally, click the download button next to this file, and Chisel will start downloading after a few seconds!
Now, you will need to download the CTM or Connected Textures Mod. You can find a link to CTM in the description above. The process on this page is the exact same as Chisel. However, you will want to select the same Minecraft version as you did with Chisel. If you don’t Chisel will not work!
The last thing we need to do before installing Chisel in Minecraft is download and install Forge. You can find a link to download Forge in the description above. That will take you to our text tutorial that will show you everything you need to know about installing Forge for Chisel. Just make sure that you are downloading and installing the same version of Forge as Chisel. So 1.18 Chisel will need the 1.18 version of Forge.
Once you have Forge, we can install Chisel in Minecraft. To do this, open up the start menu and search for the ‘Run’ application. Open this app, and in the text box, type %appdata% and hit enter. You will be taken to your roaming folder. You will a .minecraft folder here. Open that, and you should see the ‘mods’ folder. If you don’t have a mods folder, just create one. Open your mods folder. Finally, to install Chisel in Minecraft, drag-and-drop the Chisel file you downloaded and the CTM file you downloaded into this mods folder. It’s that easy to install the Chisel Mod for Minecraft.
You aren’t completely done just yet though. You still need to open up the Minecraft launcher, select the Forge version by clicking the arrow next to the play button, and click Play. You will need to confirm you are playing modded Minecraft by clicking play again, and Minecraft will open up with Chisel installed! You can now craft a chisel in game, left click with it, and start changing blocks to have some awesome designs!
