How to Fix Microphone or Audio SYNC being OFF on OBS PC (Easy Tutorial)
If you’re experiencing microphone or audio sync issues in OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), there are a few steps you can take to resolve them. Let’s get your audio back in sync with your video:
Check Sample Rates in OBS Studio:
Open OBS Studio and click on Settings.
In the settings menu, click on Audio to bring up the Audio Settings window.
Observe the selected sample rate. Make sure it’s set to either 48 kHz or 44.1 kHz, as these are the two sample rates supported by OBS Studio1.
If you have an older audio device, consider adjusting the sample rate to 44.1 kHz.
Windows Sound Settings:
Open your Sound Settings in Windows 10 (you can type “sound settings” in the search bar within the taskbar).
Select Sound Control Panel to access the old Sound properties window.
In the properties window, go to the Advanced tab and ensure that all devices are set to the same sample rate you set in OBS Studio.
The “Bit” depth doesn’t matter much for audio sync; just choose the highest variant of Hz that matches your OBS sample rate setting.
Sync Offset (if needed):
In OBS Studio, click on the gear icon next to your audio devices in the Audio Mixer.
Select Advanced Audio Properties.
You can add a Sync Offset for your microphone if your webcam shows the video feed before or after the actual audio comes in.
Reboot Your PC (if temporary issues persist):
Sometimes, rebooting your PC can fix temporary microphone issues in OBS Studio. Press Alt + F4, choose Restart, and hit Enter to reboot the device
