How to FIX Missing Photo Gallery on Motorola Phone Not Showing (Android Tutorial)
1Most new Motorola phones do not come with a traditional, dedicated Gallery app. Instead, they use Google Photos as the default and primary app for viewing and managing pictures and videos.
If you are looking for the "Missing Photo Gallery," there are two main scenarios and solutions:
Scenario 1: You Just Want to Find Your Photos (Using the Default App)
Your photos are likely being handled by Google Photos, even if you don't use its cloud backup feature.
Step 1: Locate Google Photos
Swipe up from the bottom of your home screen to open the App Drawer.
Look for the app icon that looks like a multicolored pinwheel: Google Photos.
Step 2: View Your Local Device Folders
In Google Photos, your local folders (Camera, Screenshots, Downloads) are accessed through the Library tab.
Open the Google Photos app.
Tap the Library tab at the bottom right.
Under the Photos on device section, you will see your phone's folders, such as Camera, Screenshots, and Downloads. Tap on any of these to see the images stored locally on your phone.
Scenario 2: You Want a Traditional, Offline Gallery App
If you prefer a simple, traditional gallery that focuses only on local files and doesn't push cloud backup, you can easily install one from the Google Play Store.
Step 1: Open the Google Play Store
Open the Google Play Store app on your Motorola phone.
Tap the Search bar at the top.
Step 2: Search for a Gallery App
Search for a simple, highly-rated, local-only gallery. Recommended options include:

The new gallery app will ask for permission to access photos and media on your device. Grant this permission to see your pictures.
You can now use this new app as your main photo viewer, which will show all the pictures and videos stored in your phone's memory.
