Part 1: Turn Off or Adjust Parental Controls as the Family Manager
Go to the PS5 Home screen
Open Settings (gear icon at the top right)
Select Family and Parental Controls
Choose Family Management
Sign in with the Family Manager account if prompted
Select the child’s account
Adjust these settings:
Communication and User-Generated Content — set this to Allowed
Age Level for Games — raise or set to unrestricted
Web Browsing — allow or restrict
Time Restrictions — adjust or remove
You can also delete the child account if you want to remove all restrictions that way.
Part 2: If You're Not the Family Manager
If you're not logged in as the Family Manager, you won’t be able to change or turn off parental controls. Your options are:
Ask the Family Manager to make the changes for you
Or, create a new PlayStation account with your correct birth date so it's not restricted
Important — PlayStation does not let you convert a child account to an adult account later
