1. Check Your Hardware and Connections
Physical Connection: Ensure your microphone or headset is plugged in correctly. For USB microphones, try a different port. For 3.5mm jacks, make sure you're using the correct port—the pink one for the microphone if your computer has separate audio jacks.
Mute Button: Many headsets have a physical mute button or a volume dial on the cable or ear cup. Make sure your mic is not muted and the volume is turned up.
Power: If you're using a condenser mic or a mic that requires phantom power, ensure the power supply is on and connected.
2. Check Windows Sound Settings
Set as Default Device: Your PC might be defaulting to a different microphone (like a webcam's built-in mic). Go to Settings System Sound. Under the "Input" section, use the dropdown menu to select your microphone as the input device.
