How to Find Apps on Windows PC & Update (Best Method)
0Finding and updating apps on a Windows PC is a two-part process, as not all apps are managed the same way. The best methods depend on whether the app was installed from the Microsoft Store or downloaded from the internet.
Part 1: How to Find Apps
The easiest and most comprehensive way to see all your installed apps is through the Start Menu.
For Windows 11
Click the Start button on the taskbar.
Select All apps from the menu.
You will see an alphabetical list of all the applications installed on your computer. You can scroll through the list or click on a letter to jump to that section (e.g., click "G" to find "Google Chrome").
For Windows 10
Click the Start button on the taskbar.
You'll see a list of your most used apps and a scrollable, alphabetical list of all your installed apps.
You can also use the search bar to find a specific app quickly. Simply click the Start button and start typing the name of the app. The search results will show the app and give you the option to open it.
Part 2: How to Update Apps
The method for updating an app depends on how you originally installed it.
Method 1: Updating Apps from the Microsoft Store
Apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store can be updated automatically or manually in one place.
Click the Start button and search for "Microsoft Store".
Open the Microsoft Store app.
In the Microsoft Store, click on your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings.
In the Settings menu, ensure that "App updates" is toggled to "On" to allow automatic updates.
To manually check for updates, go to the Library section (usually a button on the left sidebar). Click the "Get updates" button at the top to check for and install any available updates for all your Store apps.
