How to Increase VOLUME of your Microphone on PC (Best Method)
1To increase your microphone volume on a PC, you'll need to adjust the settings within Windows. The most common and effective methods involve using the built-in Sound settings or Control Panel, which allow you to change the volume level and enable a Microphone Boost function.
1. Increase Volume in Windows Settings (Windows 11)
Right-click on the speaker icon đ in your taskbar.
Select Sound settings from the menu.
Under the "Input" section, click on your microphone device.
In the device properties menu, you'll see a volume slider. Drag the slider to the right to increase your microphone's volume. You can test your microphone in this same menu to see if the volume bar reacts as you speak.
2. Adjust Levels in Control Panel (Windows 10 & 11)
This method gives you access to the Microphone Boost feature, which provides a significant volume increase for quieter microphones.
Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
In the new window that pops up, click the Recording tab.
Right-click on your microphone and select Properties.
Navigate to the Levels tab. Here, you'll see two sliders: Microphone and Microphone Boost.
Set the Microphone slider to 100%. Then, use the Microphone Boost slider to increase the volume. Be cautious with this setting, as a high boost can introduce static and background noise. It's best to start with a lower boost level and increase it gradually.
