This video covers installing and configuring Feral Gamemode to work with Lutris in Arch, Manjaro and Ubuntu based distributions.

1. Install Feral Gamemode.

Install using your distribution's package manager.

For example, on Ubuntu based distributions, run the following Terminal command.

sudo apt install gamemode

Alternatively, for Arch based distributions, install the below two libraries.

gamemode
lib32-gamemode

You have to have install both the 32-bit and 64-bit libraries for this to work.

You can also build the latest version from the GitHub project page.

2. Enable In Lutris.

Open Lutris, navigate to Preferences / System options and enable the Enable Feral GameMode toggle.

3. Check Gamemode is running.

Open up a Terminal window, and run the following command.

gamemoded -s

You should get a ‘gamemode is active’ message if Gamemode is running.

Plus if you are using the Gnome desktop environment, there is a Gnome extension that will notify you when Gamemode is enabled.
