About this video: In this video, we show you exactly how to make a modded Minecraft server in 1.16.3. This will allow you to play mods in Minecraft with your friends. We do this by getting a modded server setup. Then, your friends installed the mods on your server, and join it. After that, you will be able to play all of the mods together. From tech mods to building mods to everything in between, this video shows you how to do it all. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to add mods to Minecraft 1.16.3 servers!
The first step of making a Minecraft Forge server in 1.16.3 is downloading the Forge files for 1.16.3. You can find a link to go to our single player Forge tutorial in the description above. You will need to install Forge in single player in addition to on your server. Once you are on our website, click the green ‘Download Forge’ button. That will take you to Forge’s official website. Here, make sure the 1.16.3 version of Forge is selected. If it is, click ‘Installer’ under ‘Download Recommended’. That will take to AdFocus where you want to wait 7 seconds and click the red ‘skip’ button in the top right of the page. Forge will then begin downloading. Be sure to keep/save the file depending on your browser.
Now, create a new folder on your desktop called 'Modded Minecraft Server 1.16.3'. Then, right-click and open Forge with Java again.
Now, click on ‘Install Server’. Then, click the three dots that are red at the bottom of the installer. Click on ‘desktop’, click on the ‘Modded Minecraft Forge Server’ folder you created, and click ‘open’. Now, click on ‘okay’. Your Minecraft Forge server will now install all of the files it needs to run. Once it is done, open up the Modded Minecraft Server folder on your desktop.
Here, you will see a file with the name ‘forge’ and a bunch of numbers after it. Rename this file to just ‘forgeserver.jar’. Then, right click and create a new text document. Open that document, and copy and paste one of the RAM codes from the description above into this document. Then, click file, save as, make the file name ‘run.bat’, and change the save type as to all files. Save the document, and then double click on the ‘run.bat’ file that appears.
Your server will begin to start, but it will fail. You need to agree to the Minecraft Forge server EULA. To do this, open up the ‘EULA.txt’ file that appeared, change ‘EULA=false’ to ‘EULA=true’, and you are done! Now, you can click your ‘run.bat’ file again, and your modded Minecraft server will start up.
Now, at this point, you can join your server with your IPv4 address, but for your friends to join your modded Forge server, you will need to port forward on port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocols. After that, your friends will be able to join.
