How to make Shepherds Pie inspired by Cult of the Lamb (Recipe + Review)
32A shepherd takes care of his herd, but what if they are a sheep themself? That’s kind of the premise of Cult of the Lamb and the recipe inspired by this indie from Australian developer Massive Monster is one of my all time favourites: Shepherd's Pie. So in today’s recipe+review video, you’ll learn how to make Shepherd’s Pie inspired by Cult of the Lamb.
1kg Potatoes
200g Cheddar Cheese (slices)
500g Bell Peppers
500g Ground Meat/Lamb
100g Peas (frozen)
50g Butter
200ml Broth
Paprika/Chili Powder
Nutmeg
Salt
Pepper
-preheat your oven to 250C on the top heat or grill setting
-peel and decore the bell peppers
-cut them into bitesized pieces
-peel the potatoes and dice roughly
-place the potatoes in a pot
-fill the pot with water, so everything is covered
-add salt and bring to a boil
-boil till the potatoes are tender (~10min)
-add the ground meat to a big pan on high heat
-roast the meat till there is no pink visible anymore
-add the bell pepper pieces and stir
-spice with salt, pepper and paprika/chili powder and mix
-roast for a couple minutes
-add the peas to a pot
-cover with water and add a dash of salt
-bring it to a boil, cover with a lid and let it simmer (~10min)
-deglaze the meat and bell pepper mix with the broth
-add a lid and let it reduce
-drain the peas and stir in a bit of butter (~5g)
-drain the potatoes and add the rest of the butter
-stir it in so it can melt
-mash the potatoes
-spice with salt, pepper and nutmeg
-pour the meat sauce into an oven dish
-add the peas on top
-evenly distribute the mashed potatoes on top
-cover with cheese
-bake in the middle of the oven till the cheese is golden and bubbly
